All ArtyWren garments and labels are made from 100% organic cotton.

Synthetic fibres, including fabrics made from recycled plastic are major
contributors of microplastic pollution in the environment and take over 200 years to break down.

Organic cotton is grown without the use of toxic chemicals, using methods and materials that have no negative impact on the environment.

Garments made from organic cotton are biodegradable, last longer and are kinder to our skin.

Did you know that organic cotton produces around 46% less CO2 emissions compared to conventional cotton? It also uses 71% less water, helping preserve this precious resource for the future.

Overall, organic cotton benefits the farmers and workers who produce it, us as consumers and the environment.

What’s not to love?!

We work with a GOTS certified factory in India, one of the world's largest producers of organic cotton.

GOTS is recognised as the world's leading standard for textiles made from organic fibres.  Our factory is regularly audited by GOTS and certification covers all elements of the supply chain, from harvesting of raw materials, construction of fabrics,  environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing, labelling and quality control so you can rest assured that our garments are sustainable and ethical.

How many clothing tags with plastic fasteners do you throw away each year?  We see far too many on the high street.  Our clothing tags are made from paper containing wildflower seeds to encourage children to plant them, rather than throw them away.  The tags are fastened using natural twine that will biodegrade when planted.

We love to engage children in doing something positive for the environment.  Attracting butterflies and bees to their gardens is a great example!

Our garments are made to last, so we encourage you to pass your loved and worn ArtyWren garments on to another child when you've finished with them and are working on a garment exchange program to support this, so please keep an eye out for updates!

ArtyWren packaging is sourced from recycled materials and is biodegradable, recyclable or reusable.

Garments can be supplied in an organic cotton bag that can be reused, rather than the usual polythene bags that so many garments are packaged in and end up in land fill - order yours when you check out!

Our cotton bags have many uses - they can be used to carry fruit and vegetables from the supermarket to save using plastic bags or could be used as storage for toys, games, or bits and bobs.  The possibilities are endless!

India has a population of around 1.2 billion and despite having one of the world’s fastest growing economies people living in both cities and rural areas experience extreme poverty.  There are an estimated 18 million children living on the streets in India.

Goa Outreach is a project based in Goa, India, with the aim of helping local disadvantaged children regardless of their religion, class or gender. Many of these children are slum and street children who have arrived in Goa alone or with their families from neighbouring states in the hope of an easier and better life.

Each time a garment is purchased ArtyWren will donate a themed organic cotton t-shirt to Goa Outreach to be distributed to children who need them.
