Fabrics made from synthetic fibres, all of which are forms of plastic, generate high carbon emissions and take over 200 years to break down in land fill. These fabrics, even those made from recycled plastic, are major contributors of microplastic pollution in the environment. It’s estimated that just one load of laundry could release around 700,000 microplastic fibres into our water sources!

We’ll only ever use fabrics produced using organic, natural fibres, protecting rivers and oceans. If they do eventually end up in landfill, they’ll leave absolutely no trace

Our favourite is organic cotton. It’s grown without the use of toxic chemicals, using methods and materials that have no negative impact on the environment. Garments made from organic cotton are biodegradable, last longer and are kinder to our skin

Organic cotton produces around 46% less CO2 emissions compared to conventional cotton and uses 71% less water, helping preserve this precious resource for the future. Overall, organic cotton benefits the farmers and workers who produce it, us as consumers and the environment. What’s not to love?

ArtyWren’s organic cotton leggings have a natural stretch and contain absolutely no Lycra or elastane, so they're gentle on the environment and perfect for delicate skin. The waistband elastic is produced using natural rubber derived from the Pará Rubber Tree and braided with organic cotton, making ours the first, 100% biodegradable children’s leggings!

All ArtyWren products and packaging are biodegradable, creating zero waste. Our packaging is made from recycled materials and we use no single use plastics

Garments can be supplied in an organic cotton bag that can be reused - order yours when you check out!

Our cotton bags have many uses. They can be used to carry fruit and vegetables from the supermarket to save using plastic bags, or as storage for toys and games

PLANT ME, WATER ME, do a little dance, AND WATCH ME GROW!

How many clothing tags with plastic fasteners do you throw away each year?

Our clothing tags are made from paper containing wildflower seeds and can be planted to attract butterflies and bees, because we love to encourage children to give back to nature. The tags are fastened using natural twine that will biodegrade when planted

We work with a GOTS certified factory in India, one of the world's largest producers of organic cotton

GOTS is recognised as the world's leading standard for textiles made from organic fibres. Our factory is regularly audited by GOTS and certification covers all elements of the supply chain, from harvesting of raw materials, construction of fabrics, environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing, labelling and quality control

Our fabric is responsibly printed using high quality, eco-friendly certified ink

Over 235 million items of clothing are sent to landfill each year in the UK alone!
Our garments are made to last, so we encourage you to pass your pre-loved ArtyWren garments on to another child and are working on a garment exchange program to support this. Keep an eye out for updates!
